Royal Bled Golf Course is Slovenia's oldest and largest Slovenian golf course and is situated just 4 kilometres from Lake Bled resort. Re-designed in 1972 by the renowned architect Donald Harradine, the 18-hole Kings Course is still widely considered to be one of the most beautiful golf courses in central Europe. The 9-hole Lake Course opened more recently in 1993 and features a more contemporary design with some tricky water hazards for good measure.
Aside from Lake Bled the most popular courses are in Lipica, not far from the famous stud farm with its white Lipizzaner horses, near Spas (Mokrice, Otocec, Ptuj, Panonske Terme), nestled below Alpine Peaks (Bovec), amid vineyards (Slovenske Konjice) & in the middle of parks (Volcji Potok Arboretum). A golfing holiday in Slovenia provides the opportunity to experience incredible natural scenery, sample hearty mountain cuisine and enjoy laughter and music with friendly welcoming people in the numerous local bars and cafes.
