Kranjska Gora is an ideal ski resort offering everything you need from skiing to ski jumping, tobogganing and cross country skiing, and is a base for exploring the Julian Alps over 810 metres above sea level. It is located in North West Slovenia near the border with Austria and Italy, and touches Triglav National Park to the South.

Bled is a picturesque old spa town set on the edge of a lake. It has all the right ingredients for a memorable holiday - amazing natural beauty, good quality accommodation and service and the famous island in the middle of the lake with its baroque church whose bell, when rung, is said to make wishes come true. All guests are taken to Bohinj to ski by a local ski bus. Our guests staying in Bled can ski in Kranjska Gora (35 minutes away) on daily basis.

Bohinj is a mighty glacier situated on the edge of the Triglav National Park. The area offers breathtaking views of the Julian Alps mirrored in the tranquil lake below, combined with a range of activities which nonskiers can also enjoy. Beginners
Kranjska Gora is ideal for beginners. In Kranjska Gora you will learn to ski on the two nursery slopes and four more gentle runs, served by six lifts. The resorts have a well-organised ski school with English speaking instructors.
Intermediates
The great variety of well-marked red runs and compact system of chair and drag lifts make all of the resorts ideal for improving your skiing confidence. In Kranjska Gora, intermediates will find interesting skiing on Mt. Vitranc or on the shorter wooded slopes down towards Podkoren.
Advanced
Experienced skiers should head for the steep black runs of the Podkoren Mountain, situated 3km to the west of Kranjska Gora, for a chance to tackle the World Cup Slalom run. Mount Vogel is one of the highest alpine ski centres. It has an excellent 8.5km run going over the back of the mountain and descending to the magnificent lakeside area below.
Ski Lifts
All ski lifts operate 9am-4pm, and in Kranjska Gora you can also enjoy night skiing 7-10pm. Night skiing is included for clients staying in Kranjska Gora in the pre-bookable lift pass and other pre-bookable ski packs.
Snowboarding
There is great tuition available for those wanting to learn to snowboard, as well as many blue and red runs for the more experienced. The Vogel snow park is among the best in Slovenia and suitable for all levels plus the area around Lake Bled offers some interesting terrain for free riders and the chance to try some adventurous jumps.
Cross Country
It is no exaggeration to say Slovenia is the place for cross country skiing. There is the world renown 40km trail which starts from Kranjska Gora, goes into Italy and Austria before returning to Kranjska Gora. A variety of tracks are marked in the vicinity of Bled centre and there
is also a lovely 10km cross country run extending from Bohinjska Bistrica to the impressive Bohinj Lake. The Pokljuka plateau near Bled hosts the Biathlon World Cup competition every year and offers beautiful trails through quiet woods and across highland pastures and is more suited to experienced cross country skiers.
Apres-ski
Kranjska Gora is a great place to let your hair down after a hard day on the slopes. Its wonderful bars and restaurants offer a fantastic atmosphere at a fraction of the price you can expect to pay back home and if you fancy a flutter, you can try your luck at the local casino. There are weekly ski parties, snow rafting and tobogganing. Beautifully complemented by its magical setting, Bled offers all the amenities of a modern ski resort - excellent choice of restaurants, lively bars, discos and even a casino for that extra bit of fun. When the water of the lake freezes over, you can go skating or take a short cut to the famous church in the middle of the lake.
Excursions & Other Activities
There are various half and full day excursions available for those who want to get out and about and see some more of what this wonderful part of Europe has to offer. Visit the famous Postojna caves, the 17th century church on Lake Bled, the Triglav National Park, Venice in Italy or Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Snowmobiling and sledging are not to be missed if you want to truly experience Kranjska Gora. Open air ice skating is also available in the centre of Lake Bled as well as in Kranjska Gora, where you can enjoy a rink near Ramada Hotel & Suites Kranjska Gora or a natural & picturesque skating rink on Lake Jasna, a pleasant walk away from the town centre.
