Sveti Stefan / Przno

This small tourist area, which has managed to retain much of its ancient character, comprises of the villages of Przno, Milocer and a small peninsula of Sveti Stefan, which rises dramatically a few yards off a beautiful curved beach. It is frequented by the rich and famous and considered by many to be the most attractive spot on the Adriatic coast. More

Budva & Becici

Budva is the heart of tourism in Montenegro. The ancient town with its fortified walls is considered one of the oldest settlements on the Balkan Peninsula. It is a fascinating maze of cobbled streets and small squares, bursting with colourful markets, open-air concert halls, excellent restaurants, bars and clubs. Becici is ideal for the more active sea lovers with its wide range of watersports facilities. The resort is located about 2 km from the Old Town of Budva and is home to one of the most spectacular beaches in the Mediterranean.

Montenegro has average high season temperatures of 30°C and enjoys mild, dry summers.

Things to Do and See

Try the great variety of watersports offered at the main resort beaches and head inland to experience the country's timeless stone villages, dramatic fjord-like Bay of Kotor or untouched Lake Skadar.

Food and Drink

Try Njeguski ham with olives and cheeses, baka (fish stew) and mussels in bouzzara sauce (tomato, parsley, garlic, onions). Local wines and beers are also very good.

Money

Montenegro's currency is the Euro, with approximately 1.36 Euro to £1.00 GBP (Sep 2015). You can exchange sterling at airports and banks and in some larger hotels. Credit cards are not widely accepted, although some establishments take Visa and MasterCard. Traveller's cheques can be exchanged at all banks.
