Albena Holidays at a Glance

Located on the North Black Sea coast of Bulgaria and stretching 35km north of Varna, Albena is a real Bulgarian beauty! Let's start on the beach which measures 3.5km long and 150 metres wide, once seen it really is a sight to behold. Add to this an average summer temperature of over 28 degrees celsius. Even the seawater near the shore rarely dips below 25 degrees during the warmer months, making it so inviting for a dip.

Albena summer resort is very well laid out with plenty of space. Everything is within easy reach so wherever you there are a variety of shops, restaurants and bars are close by. The number of cars is restricted thanks to the resort management putting holidaymakers first. So, as you take a stroll round the resort you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and almost car free roads.

If you are after a workout then you can play volleyball or football, or both! You can also try sports you've probably never attempted before, such as water skiing.

The water sports centres are dotted along the beach and are popular, whatever you fancy trying - windsurfing, waterskiing, diving - you will find somewhere that will help open your eyes to a whole new world of enjoyment.

For those who prefer something altogether more relaxing during their beach holidays to Bulgaria, there are three well-respected spa centres that are happy to pamper you to your heart's desire. If you find yourself itching to get out and about, exploring the local sights and history, you'll be pleased to learn that there are plenty of opportunities and excursions to nearby locations of importance.

If you fancy being even more cultural, time your visit to coincide with one of the many local festivals, which include The Festival of Horo (beginning of June), the Morning Star International Art Festival (first half of June), Albena Fashion Fiesta (June) and the Cheerleading Contest (July)

Getting About

Buses are very regular and reliable. Even into the early hours of the morning, they can be seen catering to the occasional tourist who has enjoyed the local rakia! There is also a mini train that chugs around the resort which is very useful.
