Situated north of Bourgas and south of the Stara Mountain, Nessebar is a Black Sea coastal resort with a rich history dating back some 3000 years. The old part of the city is located on a small piece of terrain linked to the mainland by a narrow neck of land. The new part of the city is situated on the coastline and has grown significantly over recent years creating invisible borders between Nessebar and the surrounding cities and resorts.

Rector’s Palace (Knezev dvor) The Rector’s Palace, situated text to the Cathedral, used to be the headquarters of the governor of Dubrovnik. It was built in the 15th century, mixing gothic and renaissance styles. The palace houses a museum today.
Fort Bokar was built for defence purposes, then it served as a prison. Many of the performances, for example pieces of Shakespeare, are held here.
The fort is situated outside the city walls on a 36-metre rock. It used to serve defence purposes, today it hosts cultural events. Construction allegedly took just 3 months to complete around the 14th century.

Sunny Beach is the perfect destination for a family holiday in Bulgaria, as it has all the things the kids could possibly want, allowing parents to relax and enjoy their stay too.

A UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the old quarter of the town has been preserved as a living museum, displaying cobbled streets and the remains of 40 ancient churches from the medieval and other periods in history.

The Rila Monastery is the most revered holy site in Bulgaria, stirring up huge enthusiasm and devotion amongst locals. Everyone who visits is captivated by its beauty, making it an absolute must see for those on holiday in the country.

One top attraction is the Sea Garden in Bourgas. However, when flights for the coast come into Bourgas, guests are whisked off to Sunny Beach, Nessebar or Aheloy or other popular resorts. At the beginning of the 1980's the Bulgarian Government decided to build a holiday village that would be of a first class standard and become a destination the world would want to visit. This dream was realised when in 1986, after years of teamwork between historians and architects, the Duni Royal Resort was built. The plan was prepared by Bulgarian architects and was carried out by the Austrian building company "Rogner".
