Brela is the westernmost town of Makarska Riviera. Also referred to as the Pearl of the Makarska Riviera, it has the longest beach in Dalmatia with a length of 6km. In 2003 Forbes chose it as the most beautiful beach of Europe and the 6th most beautiful of the world. Its beauty has enchanted a number of celebrities: the wife of American President John F Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis bought a villa here in 1968. In 2005 some other celebrities, such as Bill Gates, Mick Jagger, Penelope Cruz, Jean Reno, Tom Cruise visited Brela too.
