Bulgaria's popular Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach has been crowned the cheapest summer holiday destination for the fourth time, according to new research carried out by Post Office Travel Money.
Famous for its clean seawater and golden Blue Flag awarded 8km stretch of beach, Sunny Beach has been attracting holidaymakers from the UK for over half a century as they seek a great value beach resort offering all the necessities for a memorable summer break.

The Bulgarian resort of Bansko, usually in the news as Eastern Europe's best ski resort, can now add a new summer achievement to its history as the home of Europe's longest inflatable water slide. At a length of 350 meters, the slide has been built at Bandreshka meadow.
Similar such slides built for entertainment purposes can only be found in the US, New Zealand and Australia.
In addition to the new water slide, which has already proved a huge hit with tourists to the area, visitors can also enjoy the new mini golf, football, inflatable castles, swings and play areas for the younger children.

With the pound continuing to fall against the euro, the cost of a skiing holiday in popular French, Swiss and Austrian resorts has drastically increased with unfavourable exchange rates meaning holidaymakers could pay up to 26% more than last season.
In this year’s Ski Resort Report, compiled by Post Office Travel Money, the relative costs of ski passes, equipment hire, lessons and refreshment on the slopes was compared across a range of skiing resorts, finding that Val d’Isère was the most expensive French ski destination.

In the 2017 Post Office Travel Money Holiday Costs Barometer, Sunny Beach offers the best value for money in Europe. They compared the price of ten items you normally buy on holiday including an evening meal for, suncream and a cup of coffee in resorts across Europe and of course Sunny Beach was the best value, with second place £20 or 56% higher! The other resorts just couldn't match the exceptional value Bulgaria offers, such as an evening meal for two people costing under £20!
