Look Beyond Dubrovnik urges ABTA
As delegates from around the UK prepare to attend this year's Travel Convention hosted by Dubrovnik, ABTA has teamed up with the Croatian National Tourist Office to encourage the 600 delegates attending to explore more of the beautiful country during their stay. The tourist office reported a 25% increase in visitors from January 2013 to July 2013, compared to the same period last year and Mark Tanzer, ABTA chief executive, said: "Croatia is a stunning country and after three days in Dubrovnik at the Travel Convention many delegates will want to see what else the country has to offer. "I am sure that if they do have the opportunity to explore after the Travel Convention delegates will find a country rich in culture and natural beauty and one they will almost certainly revisit."
The Island of Korcula is within easy reach from Dubrovnik with excellent ferry connections linking the two destinations. Traveling further up the glorious Adriatic coastline, visitors will find the city of Split, offering a good selection of restaurants and nightlife, set amongst the beautiful Roman architecture Split was built on. Nature lovers are encouraged to head inland just a short distance from Split to the stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park where they can find 16 breathtaking lakes interconnected by a series of waterfalls. The natural watercolors and green vegetation make a visit to the park a truly unique and memorable experience.
