This week in Sofia, Bulgaria over 1000 residents & visitors to Sofia took part in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the most people dyeing Easter eggs at one time. The egg dyeing started at 12pm and lasted for just three minutes, setting the new world record for the most people dying eggs, according to the World Record Academy.

The organizers of the event provided 2700 eggs, 200 litres of egg dye and 2200 T-shirts for the participants. The previous Guinness World Record for the most people dyeing eggs was 317 achieved at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.  The coloured eggs were subsequently inspected at three control points set up by the judges and the participants were given certificates once confirmation was received that the world record had been successfully broken.

This worthy event was not only organised to break a new record but also to help raise funds for a local medical centre for children with onco-haematological diseases.
